چکیده

The performance of journal bearings is significantly affected by the presence misalignment, which usually an accompanying problem for this type bearing. This includes exceeding design limits maximum pressure and minimum film thickness levels, affect, in other words, load-carrying capacity system. In addition, it raises possibility increasing wear rate at bearing edges increases friction coefficient high levels misalignment. paper deals with finite-length misaligned bearings, considering a novel comparison between two cases misalignments: general 3D misalignment vertical problems modified bearings. effect introducing variable axial profile on characteristics time responses rotor system under position perturbation has also been investigated. numerical solution hydrodynamic based finite difference method using Reynolds boundary conditions method. Results show that improves characteristics, such as reducing addition to coefficient. Furthermore, modification enhances rotor-bearing stability perturbation, extending speed range safe operation.

A superlinear iteration method for calculation of finite length journal bearing ’ s static equilibrium position Wenjie Zhou

Solving the static equilibrium position is one of the most important parts of dynamic coefficients calculation and further coupled calculation of rotor system. The main contribution of this study is testing the superlinear iteration convergence method—twofold secant method, for the determination of the static equilibrium position of journal bearing with finite length. Essentially, the Reynolds ...

Perturbation Analysis for Word-length Optimization

This paper introduces a design tool and its associated procedures for determining the sensitivity of outputs in a digital signal processing design to small errors introduced by rounding or truncation of internal variables. The proposed approach can be applied to both linear and nonlinear designs. By analyzing the resulting sensitivity values, the proposed procedure is able to determine an appro...

On the Steady-State Performance Characteristics of Finite Hydrodynamic Journal Bearing under Micro-Polar Lubrication with Turbulent Effect

The objective of the present paper is to theoretically investigate the steady-state performance characteristics of journal bearing of finite width, operating with micropolar lubricant in a turbulent regime. In this analysis, the turbulent shear stress coefficients are used based on the Constantinescu’s turbulent model suggested by Taylor and Dowson with the assumption of parallel and inertia-le...
